HALO Maritime Defense Systems has consistently lead the way in automatic port security gate systems. HALO's proprietary retractable defensive barrier (RDB) solutions -- GUARDIAN® and ORION® -- are uniquely capable of being high-performance automatic marine gates. The HALO FORTRESS™ automatic gate control (AGC) is the link between HALO RDB solutions and your operators or existing security infrastructure.

GUARDIAN® RDB

The GUARDIAN® Retractable Defensive Barrier (RDB) is a military grade, scalable, dynamic, maritime gate designed to survive the harshest marine environment. The GUARDIAN system can be connected to existing infrastructure or to other HALO products.

The GUARDIAN system features a modular design that provides simplified maintenance and repair. Minor part replacements are quick and easy. The accordion style structure allows automatic operation in constrained waterways. The double wall barrier with diamond shaped segments forms an impassible vertical wall in the water and naturally dissipates energy from the environment and impacts. The gate can be operated automatically, power-assisted, or manually.

MIL-STD-810G Environmental Engineering Considerations and Lab. Tests

United States Military Standard that emphasizes tailoring an equipment's environmental design and test limits to the conditions that it will experience throughout its service life, and establishing chamber test methods that replicate the effects of environments on the equipment rather than imitating the environments themselves. The MIL-STD-810 test series are approved for use by all departments and agencies of the United States Department of Defense (DoD).*

ORION® RDB


HALO ORION® and GUARDIAN® Automatic Retractable Barrier Systems collapse along their length.

Easy to install and easy to relocate, the ORION® Retractable Defensive Barrier is the little brother to HALO’s GUARDIAN® RDB. ORION is designed as a port security gate against small boat threats and intruders in the marine and nearshore environments.

HALO ORION® Retractable Defensive Barriers are the only automatic port security systems tested by the US Navy and independently verified.

The ORION RDB is a lightweight, rapidly deployable waterside security system. It is used to provide a protective perimeter around valued marine assets, while allowing ease of access for approved operators. ORION is a scaled down version of the GUARDIAN RDB that can be easily positioned in forward locations to protect deployed or visiting assets.

The ORION RDB can be deployed as a static perimeter defense or line of demarcation, or as a dynamic manually or fully automatic gate. The compact design and accordion style compression optimize storage in constrained areas. Barrier systems can be pre-positioned, deployed to protect a visiting vessel, and removed for future use after departure.

FORTRESS™ AGC


HALO's FORTRESS™ Automatic Gate Controls are the link between HALO's port security solutions and port control operators and officers.

The FORTRESS™ Automatic Gate Control is a hardware and software package that unifies the various electronic, software, sensors, and electro-motive equipment into a cohesive control system.

The FORTRESS™ AGC hardware is extremely robust and supports flexible power requirements. The FORTRESS™ control hardware can be matched to customer's existing infrastructure.

Marine hardened environmental controls are included with every FORTRESS AGC system to allow continuous operation in temperatures up to 50°C.

Electro-motive Controls
