HALO Maritime Defense Systems (HMDS) has introduced Orion Gate, a small version of its successful Guardian Retractable Defensive Barrier.
The gate is specifically targeted at marinas and other waterfront assets where security, privacy, and controlled access are essential. "Orion meets the same high standards of quality and performance demanded by our military customers but with a size, appearance, and cost profile more suitable for a non-military asset where privacy and safety are more of a concern than an impacting speed boat," said James Singer, HMDS managing director GCC/MENA. "Like all of our products it is customisable to the particular asset and location," he added.
HMDS was started in 2008 with the vision to: "Protect Vital Assets by Extending Physical Security to the Waterside." In a security-conscious world, both government assets and commercial/private assets have a real, immediate and critical need for high levels of protection. "The oil and gas market is perfect for our technology," said Tony Reid, HMDS Director of Physical Security, "we engineer and market unique systems designed to provide waterside protection of any assets with waterside exposure and this would, of course, include refineries, LNG plants, and off-shore oil rigs." Each HALO barrier system is customized for the particular location and application.

Last night, as rain fell washing away more of the massive snow piles that have littered the streets of Boston this winter, United4Defense held our March event in our new location at the CIC building in Downtown Boston. We were ecstatic to welcome our esteemed guest speaker, Paul Jensen, CEO of Halo Maritime Defense Systems of Newton, NH. Jensen talked passionately about the trials and tribulations of a start up based on his own experiences and shared his company’s fascinating maritime barrier technology for critical infrastructure protection with the group. According to Paul Jensen, CEO of HALO Maritime Defense Systems (HMDS), senator Kelly Ayotte was a featured speaker at the company's dedication ceremony of its Technical Development Center on June 27th.
