April 18, 2017 – PR Newswire

NEWTON, N.H., April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — HALO Maritime Defense Systems (HALO), provider of advanced engineered solutions for the security needs of strategic maritime assets, announced today that Eric Johnson has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer and that David Tolly has joined as Chief Financial Officer.

Eric Johnson, formerly the Chief Operating Officer of HALO, is an experienced executive with an extensive background in manufacturing, tooling and production. Rear Admiral Jay Cohen, USN (Ret.), the Chairman of the Board of Directors at HALO, stated, “Eric Johnson embodies the engineering expertise and leadership qualities that will ensure HALO continues to build on its vision to protect the waterfront, enabling unmatched marine access control for both government and commercial clients.”

Johnson previously identified the numerous shortfalls in legacy barrier systems and was the main driver to engineer and develop the next generation of HALO barriers to meet and exceed U.S. Navy specifications. He developed the Sponsored Research Partnership with the University of New Hampshire, and most recently managed the installation of a Marine Barrier and Gate system in Abu Dhabi, the most advanced of its kind in the world. He is also the author and contributor of several patents assigned to HALO. Johnson started his career with Raytheon after graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

“I am honored to be named CEO of HALO Maritime Defense Systems,” Johnson stated, “During my time with HALO I have gained an intimate knowledge of where we need to go as a company and, with the support of the talented team at HALO, we will continue to develop the most innovative maritime security solutions in the world for our customers.”

David Tolly is coming to HALO from Corporate Solutions Group, Inc., where, as CEO, he held leadership roles including CFO, interim CFO, and interim CEO for numerous private equity portfolio companies, as well as provided a wide range of financial advisory and transaction services. Tolly has more than 35 years of international financial, manufacturing, and business services experience that encompass significant roles in more than 40 companies in the consumer products, industrial equipment, aerospace & defense, oil & gas, and professional services industries.

“We are thrilled with the addition of David Tolly to our team, and confident that his skills, extensive experience, and his considerable business acumen will help us execute our near-term business plans, while building a foundation to achieve our long-term growth objectives,” said Johnson. “David comes to us with an exceptional track record and is certain to play a crucial role in this critically important time of growth.”

Prior to Corporate Solutions Group, Inc., Tolly was COO and managing director at Focus Management Group, where he won industry recognition by Turnarounds & Workouts Magazine as 2011 “People to Watch-Business Professionals Making Their Mark” for outstanding achievements. Prior to Focus, Tolly was Chief Operating Officer of Fabricated Products Group, a custom plastic injection molding and packaging film company and was the CFO for Diam International, a New York based, worldwide provider of point of purchase displays, during a time of rapid growth.

“HALO is a leader in the rapidly evolving market for engineered security solutions that protect against maritime threats,” Tolly said. “HALO continues to deliver next generation solutions to replace the failing and outdated barriers currently in place. HALO has shown considerable foresight in realizing that old style maritime security systems are no longer effective against modern maritime threats and has been at the forefront in designing and implementing maritime security systems that will be effective for the next generation. I am excited to be joining the team.”
